Telangana NMMS Exam 2023: National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination for class 8 will be conducted on 18-12-2022 (Sunday) from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM in Telugu/ Hindi/ Urdu/ English medium at all Revenue Divisional Head Quarters of all 33 Districts in the State.

  1. The Ministry for Human Resource Development, Government of India has launched centrally sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (N.M.M.S.S). Under this scheme an examination will be conducted every year for the students studying class VIII in Government/ Local Body/Municipal/Aided Schools/ Modal schools which have no residential facility(i.e. from non-Residential Schools only) and selected candidates are eligible for getting the scholarship.
  2. The candidates who got minimum 55% of marks in case of OC/BC candidates and 50% in case of SC/ST in VII Standard and studying class VIII from above said schools with parental income by not exceeding Rs. 3,50,000/- p.a. are eligible to apply for this examination.

It is informed that the last date to Register the applications online and the due dates for payment of Examinations fee for National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination by the students who are studying VIlI class during the Academic year 2022-23 is 28-10-2022. Eligibility Criteria

  • A candidate who has/is Scored at least 55% of marks, in case of SC/ST S0% of marks or equivalent grade for all categories in class VII Examination studied during the year 2021-22.
  •  Studying in ZP//Local Body/ Government /Government aided schools Model Schools which have no residential facility only can apply.
  • Candidates from Model Schools who have residential facility are not eligible for applying of NMMSE.
  • The candidates whose parental annual income (both Parents put together) is below Rs.3,50,000/- from all sources have to produce latest original Annual Income Certificate issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer, Telangana in case of Private employee and certificate issued by the employer in case of Government employee.
  • The students studying in Telangana Residential High Schools, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Schools, Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential High Schools, Telangana Minority Residential Schools, Government Ashram High Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools, Model schools with residential facility, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Private unaided Schools including sainik schools and other Government schools which have residential facility are not eligible to appear for this Examination.
  • In case of BC/SC/ST candidates caste certificate (issued by the MRO of Telangana state) and in case of PHC candidates Medical certificates issued by District Medical board of Telangana state should be uploaded along with application at the time of registration of application on line and all the candidates including general candidates should upload income certificate (issued by the MRO of Telangana state) at the time of registration of application on line.
  • Original VIl class Pass Memo of Marks of the candidate should be submitted.

How to Apply for NMMS 2023

Fee Payment

For General & Backward Classes Students: Rs.100-00
For Scheduled Caste, Scheduled tribe & PH Students: Rs. 50-00

The examination fee has to be paid through the system of SBI Collect which is connected with the link of online application.

Application Procedure

  • Click on the link provided below as “Online Registration”
  • Enter “DISE School Code” and “Password” in the boxes provided
  • Select the Management Type from the List. Fill each and every column in the application form as per the school records and upload photo with signature and required certificates by click on Browse button.
  • (The photo with signature file size should be less than 30KB and format should be image) and click on “Submit Application” button.
  • Enter the details of another candidate by click on “New Candidate” button. Fill all the candidates’ details in the same procedure. After completion of uploading the entire applications click on “Report” for check the particulars of all the students.
  • Bank Account particulars are not mandatory and proceed without Bank Account number if the candidate don’t have bank account.
  • Click on “SBI Collect” button to pay the examination fee.  It redirects to SBI Collect page of SBI bank. Pay the Examination fee for all the candidates in a single payment. Take print of the receipt after successful payment.
  • After successful payment of examination fee, login again and click on “Add SBI Collect Information”
  • Enter HM Mobile Number, Bank Name, SBI Collect number (find SB Collect reference number on Receipt i..e, code starts with DU), Amount and Transaction Date and save.
  • Click on Report  and then click on Click here to Download NR to take print of the Nominal Roll. Submit the attested copy of Nominal Roll along with all the relevant documents in your concerned DEOs office before last date.
  • Submit the following items in your concerned District Educational Officer’s Office.
    1) Two Sets of Printed Nominal Rolls (Attested by the Head Master).
    2) Attested copies of Caste & Medical Certificates in case of SC/ST/PH category.
    3) Computer generated Original SBI Collect Receipt.

Exam Pattern
    1. Mental Ability Test (M.A.T) – 90 marks multiple choice questions.

Scholastic Ability Test.(S.A.T) – 90 marks covering sciences, mathematics and social sciences of class VII & VIII. Each question carries one mark. Time is one minute for one question.

  • Qualifying percentage is as follows:
  • The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40% and in case of SC/ST students this cut off will be 32%.
  • Selection will be made as per the merit subject to district wise and community wise quota allotted as per norms issued by MHRD New Delhi.
  • The selected beneficiaries should register and up load their Aadhar linked bank account particulars in National Scholarship Portal in stipulated time by opening the bank accounts in any nationalized bank which have online clearing system only to get scholarship Rs 12000 per year.
